I met Ermias through one of his youth led Rotaract events invited as a speaker. At first contact, I was already taken by his enormous drive for change, and the love he had for Rotaract and Rotary. Then, I immediately accepted the invitation to be his close advisor in seeing his exceptional leadership skills and profound impact on the youth he was making through the Rotary program in Ethiopia. Serving in different leadership roles including his notable contributions as Country Chair, as well as other programs such as RYLA, the District Leadership Team and organizing the annual conferences, he demonstrated a remarkable ability to inspire and empower young individuals, fostering a spirit of community service and personal growth. His innovative initiatives not only engaged youth in meaningful projects but also instilled a sense of responsibility and leadership in them. Working alongside him as an advisor, I witnessed firsthand his unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation, making a lasting difference in their lives and the broader community.
